Jakarta is the capital city and largest city of Indonesia, located in the Jakarta Special Capital Region, it is the 13th largest city in the world.

Jakarta is also the largest city in the Muslim World, with Karachi being in second.
The city's name in 1942 was Djakarta instead of Jakarta, but was renamed to it's present name in 1972.
